Deosai National Park is one of the highest and open plains of Pakistan, a charming, beautiful and scenic place located between Skardu, Gilgit and Astore Pakistan. This place is situated 13,500 feet above sea level.

This place is Laying to the east of Nanga Parbat and is a part of the western Himalayas. This part is situated almost near the central Karakoram range and is surrounded by the mountains of Deosai.

Deosai National Park has been temporarily included in the list of world heritage sites of Pakistan.National park deosai  is called the land of Jinnat

Geography

Deosai National Park is situated in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan within the Western Himalayas. This park is situated at an altitude of 13,500 feet above sea level. Deosai is also called the second roof of the world.

 The total area of ​​Deosai National Park is spread over 843 square kilometres (325 square miles).This place is famous for its beautiful trees, plants and animals. This area is situated between the Karakoram and West Tibetan mountains.

In spring, various wild flowers bloom here and plants are found everywhere due to which its beauty increases. Various birds live here

Geological Structure

The soil of this area is quite solid (coarse particles), the rest of the stones are of different size and are mixed with gravel. The soil in the areas between the mountains is fertile, soft and clayey due to which vegetables and digging things are available.

Deosai National Park was established in 1993 to save the Himalayan brown bear, which is a very dangerous animal. Initially there were 19 bears but now their number has increased to 80.

The Himalayan wildlife foundation has played an important role in its establishment. They helped a lot in making Deosai a national park and also established research camps and check posts there for 9 to 10 years.

Since 2006 the responsibility of the park has been taken over by the northern areas forest department. These days hunting and poaching in the open has become very common but due to climate change and shortage of food, bears are also in danger.

In Deosai plain, not only bears are found but it also includes ibex, snow leopard, Kashmir musk deer, Himalayan wolf, marmot and more than 124 birds are also found, including animals like golden eagle, falcons, Himalayan vulture and Himalayan snowcock.
